Live Review: DYP 'Ardent'
DYP has released a track that will perfectly suit your long drives.
Pilerats Records are releasing music from some of Perth's best producers and one who has definitely got talent is DYP. The producer has been playing music across Perth since 2009.
DYP, or Iain Campbell as Perth people will know him, has released a track called 'Ardent' that showcases his talent for textures and unique vocals.
Pilerats have created yet another new project to embark on called 'Mrs Mac's Creative Journey' and when the boys didn't have a soundtrack to go along with it, DYP jumped on board and created 'Ardent' for the project. Created over only two days, 'Ardent' flows just as naturally as your car wheels and is proving to be a perfect driving song. This proves the producer knows his music and knows that if he needs to make a track for a specific event, he'll nail it.

'Ardent' produces wonderful textures and smooth melodies as the ghostly vocals dance around them. The vocal mix echoes around the twinkling samples and there are some beaming synths that ooze on into the mix as the track builds itself into a simplistic drop. DYP has kept things very light with this track and the statement "head in the clouds" definitely comes to mind as you feel like your mind is floating up amongst the sounds the producer has created.
