Live Review: PREMIERE: GL 'Won't You See' (Black Vanilla Remix)

As you're probably already aware, we here at Purple Sneakers always have epic new music to share with you and this new track comes courtesy of GL and BLACK VANILLA.

The two artists are both very talented in their own right but have this time come together by way of the remix and the result is just amazing. BLACK VANILLA have remixed GL's track 'Won't You See' and it is now an aural delight of experimental electronica.

The Astral People staple is currently on tour with COLLARBONES and has found some time during his busy schedule to rework GL's track into a song that is incredibly infectious. The original is obviously great but the new remix has a series of elements that just jump out at you, making it very hard to overlook. Each of these elements work together to create the unique track and honestly, you'll not listen to anything else like this in a while.

Opening with some very distorted and digital sounding vocals humming "won't you see", the track has already started out on a high note and seems to carry it on throughout the piece. Chopped vocals are scattered over the robotic soundscape and the synths seems to work together producing something compelling, until that whole scene is suddenly broken by an upbeat percussion section. The percussion stays quite tame and soon the humming robotics return and both elements blend together into an even mixture of organic and industrial sounds.

Catching BLACK VANILLA on their current tour is definitely a must do if you love his remix. The trio's tracks are all outstanding and have a steady character that makes them stand out amongst many other producers on the scene today.
