Live Review: Twinsy 'Tear It Down'

27 August 2014 | 12:00 am | Sebastian Henry-Jones

‘Tear It Down,’ forthcoming from Twinsy's ‘Espiritus’ EP, is a killer tune, punctuated with killer vocals and an uncanny sense of timing.

Let’s not beat around the bush here, for this track by Ballarat duo TWINSY certainly does not. ‘Tear It Down,’ forthcoming from their ‘Espiritus’ EP, is a killer tune, punctuated with killer vocals and an uncanny sense of timing.

While the chorus is a seriously (seriously) rollicking good time, a rowdy affair driven by cascading drums and guitar streaks, it would be nothing without each verse in between. It is here that a flock of voices lead us slowly-but-surely up and onwards towards the madness to come. In this way, ‘Tear It down’ is not just a big bundle of energy.

It’s a controlled big bundle of energy and testimony to the song-writing talent that TWINSY possesses.

This is the kind of anthem that should be shared with others. To be sung along to with mates, or even better, to be sung along to with complete strangers. And for fans of TWINSY it bodes very well for the future.

Espiritus’ is due out on the 31st of October courtesy of Dew Process and Universal Music Australia.
