Live Review: Oliver 'Fast Forward'

OLIVER  may have been thrown around of late with the likes of CHROMEO (having helped the Canadian duo with their latest White Women album), but the partnership of Oligee and U-Tern continue to work by the motto of 'quality over quantity', as heard and felt through, 'Fast Forward'.  

Though it's been a decent amount of time since OLIVER have released originals on their own (going back to 2012 with their first EP Dirty Talk), 'Fast Forward' also serves as the b-side to their forthcoming release, Light Years Away, the duo's second EP due out on September 9.

The Fool's Gold sons seamlessly weave in and out of two worlds with this newest tune. Here you'll discover a dark and ominous soundscape whilst on the flipside the boys deliver a bouncy, funk-tinged fun-sphere. Oligee and U-Tern have perfectly melded the contrasting tones of mystery and cheek into the one good-times-guaranteed vibe. 

It's clever, it's tight and it's uber clean with its production; did we ever doubt or expect anything less from these two though?
