KIM's latest EP titled 'Kloser' features a craft application of skills, paired with an apt for creating cinematic soundscapes. Be sure to catch him on tour.
Sydney based techno authority MOTORIK have had a huge run this year. What with JENSEN INTERCEPTOR’s absolutely monstrous EP and national tour, their programme on FBi Click and a heck of a lot of parties, they’ve been keeping themselves more than busy.
Coming up on the MOTORIK release roster however, is the highly anticipated release from Kim Moyes AKA KIM. You may also know him from a little group called THE PRESETS.
His latest EP release titled ‘Kloser’ really brings to the fore the experience and innovative genius that KIM holds. He’s not sparingly used his skill, and has ultimately given everything in the EP. And it shows.

The opening track ‘Kloser’ is an explosive array of heavy dynamics that take the song’s entirety to build into this gigantic cesspit of pure synths and fantastically crafted bass lines. Heading into ‘Casiopea, the EP is beginning to feel like it’s drenched in slow-burning bass lines, and climaxing into sopping wet hooks that are just so well crafted. It’s refreshing to hear how refined this work truly is.
It is on the track ‘Frozen’, however, where it’s clear to see how KIM is telling a story with his sounds. A true cinematographic experience, this arrangement is pure craft. Tinkles, chimes, eerie soundscapes and a stealthy slow build make ‘Frozen’ the definition of KIM’s music to date.
MOTORIK have again supported the output of a truly innovative artist that never fails to create something that feels like more than just music. A true masterpiece. To celebrate the release of the EP, KIM’s heading out on tour. You can catch him in one of six locations across Australia over the course of September. Check out the details below.
