Live Review: SBTRKT 'New Dorp, New York' ft. Ezra Koenig

Here is a new song from SBTRKT featuring the one and only EZRA KOENIG. It's called 'New Dorp, New York' and honestly, you can't really have a song about New York without Mr KOENIG now can you?

The track is the lead single from SBTRKT's upcoming sophomore album Wonder Where We Land and with a leading track like this, the LP itself is sure to be a fun new SBTRKT experience for the entire family, well almost.

The British producer chose a very good vocalist for his track and with KOENIG introducing the track with his sultry vocals atop a very subtle beat that thumps underneath the track. There are some female vocals also featured on the track but SBTRKT hasn't let us know whose voice it is. KOENIG powers through the first verse until simply talking the chorus as only a handful of samples are added into the melody behind him.

'New Dorp, New York' is extremely unique with a tribal atmosphere being produced towards the end of the track, you have something very different from SBTRKT here and his vision of the track is like a warped version of the real New York. Distorted vocals and deep percussion give off a very strange aura but you can't help but enjoy it.

The release date of Wonder Where We Land is still unknown but at least we have this brand new piece of music to listen to as we try and figure out the sound we're going to expect on SBTRKT's new album.
