Live Review: Jungle 'Time' (Lxury Remix)

23 July 2014 | 11:39 am | Lauren Payne

London-based producer Lxury has remixed Jungle's track 'Time' and he couldn't have chosen a better week to release it.

London-based producer Andy Smith, or LXURY as we know him, has released another sweet remix for us. After only just releasing his four-track EP Playground, the producer has gotten his hand son a new JUNGLE tune, 'Time', that most of us already love from the band's debut album.

The remix definitely has a very free-spirit with the melody flowing so carelessly throughout its four-minute duration. The atmosphere of it reminds you of a certain festival that JUNGLE will be performing at very soon and so LXURY has chosen the most opportune week to release his remix of 'Time'.

It's like he knows we needed a final dose of JUNGLE before we all gathered to see them perform live on stage down in Byron Bay.

The original mix of 'Time' has a very groovy melody created with some atmospheric synths and brooding harmonies hovering softly underneath the initial vocals. The synths contort around a series of unique percussion sounds that all come together well and most of these elements are actually still recognisable in LXURY's mix. The harmonies introduce the track as it builds it's way into a series of softened percussion and distorted vocal mixes. The tempo has been charged up to produce a more swift and upbeat melody with the contorting synths twisting in short bursts rather than consistently moving.

JUNGLE will be performing at this year's Splendour In The Grass before embarking on a two-date sideshow tour in Melbourne and Sydney, so if you unfortunately missed out on festival tickets, you can still hear 'Time' in all of it's glory at the sideshows.
