Live Review: CRNKN ‘Heart’ (LO'99 Remix)

1 July 2014 | 11:16 pm | Caitlin Medcalf

LO'99 has taken on CRNKN's ‘Heart’ in an absolutely huge way, completely transforming it into a house dream.

LA producer Gabe Baer, AKA CRNKN is still a fairly new face. At the ripe age of 20, he’s led a life filled with aspects of music from all walks of life. He picked up the guitar at a very young age, and has kept that up in his repertoire.

CRNKN began as a bedroom project, using Ableton as his tool. He got his real start a year or two ago, and has since toured internationally and gone on to create some huge things. ‘Heart’ is a soulful trap fusion that somehow turns something so obscure into something so dirty, and then back into some of the best progressive beats around.

LO’99 is a relatively enigmatic producer, what with this certain degree of anonymity that he holds. He’s taken on CRNKN’s ‘Heart’ in an absolutely huge way, completely transforming it into a house dream. An increase in tempo, the addition of a bigger bass line and a symphony of synths make for an altogether different vibe to the track.
