Live Review: Fractures 'Won't Win' (Official Video)

30 June 2014 | 10:27 pm | Lauren Payne

Fractures has released a music video for one of his best new tracks.

After a long hiatus caused by a near-fatal fall, FRACTURES returned to the electronic scene very quickly with a variety of new tracks that were instantly ready for release.

2014 has been a much better year for producer Mark Zito, and we couldn't be happier about his new batch of original mixes. His beautifully haunting sounds make for a wonderful listening experience where you're transported into a world of Zito's creation. The different synths and samples of each track blend together to create beautiful music that no one will be forgetting for a long time.

One of the tracks that FRACTURES released during his comeback was 'Won't Win'. The track features brooding keys that hover beneath morbid lyrics that feel lonesome and dark.

The film clip was recorded in an abandoned house in suburban Brisbane where director Jeff Andersen Jnr had the job of directed Zito for his first on-camera experience. regarding his first filming experience Mark Zito explained to Faster Louder:

“[Jeff] was essentially teaching me how to act and requesting I open my mouth more … in regards to the lip sync that is... I was just happy to be led, acting is not my thing and I’m not in a hurry to jump in front of the camera again but Jeff was patient with me. So patient.”

The concept of the video is quite simple. Zito wakes up in bed with a girl and begins driving her across town. You can see the tension between them and as the story unfolds, the lighting and a very simple animation pattern appear across a variety of objects and Zito's face in a separate shot as the song reaches it's crescendo.
