Live Review: Shagabond 'Niju'

5 June 2014 | 4:46 pm | Adriana Barro

Youngster Shagabond hits us up with his latest dose of sexy, soulful music to groove to.

Being ridiculously young and talented seems to be the latest trend on the electronic music scene, with 17 year-old SHAGABOND being no exception. April saw SHAGABOND release his debut single 'Milk/Cookies' via Die High Records, and receive a warm welcome to the scene with his soulful, dreamy track with its hard hitting bass.

Next up he's given us 'Niju', a track which is helping the artist carve his way into the genre, showing his strength in producing enchanting, jangly sounds complimented by strong hip-hop beats.

'Niju' starts off quite minimal and spacious, and works up to busy instrumental filled highs and soft, groovy lows. The overall tone of this track can't be described as anything less than sexy, and you'll probably notice yourself clicking to the beat after a few seconds, don't fight it, let it happen. The track holds a constant structure, without feeling repetitive. The faded, echoed vocals only add to the dreamlike feel of the track and the the simple but powerful baseline works to keep it grounded. Another win from the young producer, and tracks like this can only keep us guessing for what's in store for SHAGABOND's seemingly bright future.
