Live Review: Luke Million 'Riders'

7 June 2014 | 1:35 pm | Lauren Payne

Luke Million has been working hard on his edits/remakes series and now he has one that he holds very dear to share with us.

Being one half of disco duo THE SWISS, LUKE MILLION has got his throwback tracks down pat. His recent remix of 'In The City' definitely shows that his solo work is slightly different to that of the collaborative project and although it may sound similar, MILLION has his very own energy that is displayed magnificently throughout his music.

His new song 'Riders' has a very relatable story behind it. As the description explains, the producer never grew out of his Doors phase:

"Most teenage boys go through a Doors phase… I never grew out of it. My friends and I used to throw Doors parties with the Oliver Stone movie in the background whilst we listened to their records. The Doors “Greatest Hits” was actually the first Vinyl I ever purchased."

MILLION admires the keyboard work of Ray Manzarek  and 'Riders Of The Storm' was one of his favourite tracks. This is the point where you have probably begun to identify the links.

The track features a lovely deep disco vibe that takes you back to the late-60's (if you remember them). The mysterious Jim Morrison has been  brought back from the dead with his voice warped via Vp-330 Vocoder and the overall funk just glows from its origins whilst being amplified by LUKE MILLION's sweet synth skills.
