Live Review: Trippy Turtle 'Trippy's Theme'

If you weren't already aware of the existence of DJ and Producer TRIPPY TURTLE, you will be now. There isn't too much info circulating the web when it comes to TRIPPY.

Although original rumours of the artist being an alter ego of CASHMERE CAT have long been put to rest,  pretty much all we know about this guy is that he makes killer beats with plenty of throwbacks to R&B.

Currently turning heads on the Jersey dance scene, newest recruit to the Mad Decent lineup TRIPPY TURTLE has now dropped the apparent theme song to his life, and what a life it must be. On first listen 'Trippy's Theme' is a lot to take in, it's packed full of so much, genre-fluid, bouncy goodness, it definitely needs a second listen. Super catchy, and bursting at the seams with energy, this is a guy who has plenty of skill to show, and he's doing just that.

The track begins with a classic, sexy R&B vibe, before chopping straight into a busy, fast paced frenzy. It swings back and forth between down tempo and fast, dancey beats, with a hint of trap thrown into the mix. The vocals are nostalgic of old school R&B, and the lyrics (besides including the amazing line "I'll go turtle on that booty") are a sure-fire way to get people to remember the name 'TRIPPY TURTLE'.

This can't be described as anything other than maniacal, it will make your head spin, and then you'll probably just want to listen to it all over again.
