Live Review: Tincture 'Similar Circles' (Planete Remix)

6 June 2014 | 4:36 pm | Lauren Payne

Silo Arts & Records have recruited a new producer by the name of Planete and his latest remix of Ticture's 'Similar Circles' is ambient and blissful.

Silo Arts & Records already have a huge catalogue of fantastic artists in their arsenal. RAINBOW CHAN, FRIENDSHIPS and MOTION PICTURE ACTRESS are just some names you'll find on their large list of signings, and now they've added another artist to their list who has all of the potential to soundtrack our most deep inner thoughts.

PLANETE is a producer from Melbourne who's really got something good to show us. Known as Dion Tartaglione to his friends, he is only one of the new signings Silo Arts have collected as they expand throughout 2014. The producer's soothing house grooves have begun to imprint themselves in the minds of listeners and by the looks of things, they'll be staying there for a while.

His latest offering is a remix of now label-mate TINCTURE's track 'Similar Circles'. Released only a few months back, 'Similar Circles' is a very intricate track with sample lightly stepping on top of a series of smooth synths that glide alongside TINCTURE's distorted vocals.

The vocal mix is a lot quieter with it echoing in the background of the remix like a series of ghosts. The climax of he tracks brings 'Similar Circles' into a bright array of synths that you can recognise a lot more. Twinkling samples are soon brought in to channel TINCTURE's original song and it all seems to just become one large piece of music that you can just get lost in.

PLANETE and TINCTURE are both busy playing shows across Australia with some of our other favourite acts and so if you have the chance to catch either producer live, be sure to get there and enjoy the array of beautiful melodies they both create.
