Live Review: Pat Lok 'Could Be Mine' ft. Patrick Baker

11 June 2014 | 11:57 am | Alean Penaflor

Canadian producer Pat Lok shares his latest single, 'Could Be Mine' featuring Patrick Baker.

Canada's PAT LOK is steadily and surely proving himself as a producer to be reckoned with. With previous singles 'Needy''Move Slow' and a handful of remixes showcasing his knack for groove and melody, he's proved himself yet again with this latest original release, 'Could Be Mine'.

Just for further approval, 'Could Be Mine' has been given the nod by Californian electro-powerhouse Symbols record label head man, KASTLE, featuring the tune on his mixtape Parables Volume 2.

Kicking off with deep, distorted vocals and a caress of bright pulsing keys, the low end beats then kick in and make way for Baker's sultry vocal lines.

The nuances in the track's elements makes for a smooth listen and a constant groove to get moving to; it's a seamless combination of nu-house foundations and soul flourishes, as Baker sings out 'I tried to love you, but you just won't let me'. With its equal parts of club mix and RnB melody, it'll sure find a way to wiggle itself into your brain and leave you humming for the rest of the day.
