Live Review: Leure 'Lightfields'

There must be something in the water over there in Perth, because the talent that keeps flowing out of that state is borderline unnatural.

Artist ASH HENDRIKS, member of WOLVES AT THE DOOR has recently put her energies into a new electronic side project, creating music under the name LEURE.

The release date for an EP is only a few short days away, and if this title track 'Lightfields' is anything to go by, I think she is on to something amazing here. The track is a haunting mix of breathy, faded vocals and layered electronic beats. LEURE's ability to create music with such powerful, enchanting atmospheric value is a credit to her skill as an artist.

'Lighthouse' is a delicate track, laced with something more sinister, drawn out soft synths and echoing sweet vocals all add to the ethereal feel of this track, which can only foreshadow great things to come from Perth artist LEURE.
