'Banana Bread', 'Cola', 'Seafood', 'Slush Puppy'—BEATY HEART seem to have a thing or two to say about the culinary delights of the world. The self-proclaimed "psychedelic drum pop" three-piece have been called "London's answer to ANIMAL COLLECTIVE", slapping up electro-rooted neo-psych and YEASAYER-esque world music vibes that scream cultural proficiency, not to mention taste.
Despite their rejection of the 'tribal' shoehorn, there's clear African influences running through their music; there's South American influences; there's a modern American indie aesthetic bridled with their natural UK sensibilities. However you dress it up, the sound of BEATY HEART is pumped full of the rich and hearty flavours of the world.

SILK ROAD
"Silk Road in Camberwell is one of the best places to eat with friends. Its just d-lish Chinese food at its best, none of that Hoi Sin bullshit. You always order way too much, and walk out with your mouth buzzing from all the chilli. Dumplings are amazing here, as well as the aubergine and tomato side dish, and the cold kelp, garlic and chilli salad."
BRIXTON VILLAGE
"This place is an old covered market precinct that has been gentrified into a nu-yuppie street food paradise. Its always packed on the weekends, so arrive early if you want to get a table at Franco Manca Pizza or Honest Burger."
FRANKS CAMPARI BAR
"The newspapers cream all over this place in Peckham. Im pretty sure if it didn’t exist nobody from Clapham (Australian refugee camp and home to 90% of London's young banker slimes) would ever have come here, which would have been a positive thing (no h8 4 Australians tho, just the lame ones with Rugby balls and small ones).
It’s cool though, it's right at the top of a multi-story car-park above Peckham Plex Cinema (great value at £5 a movie), and has a really beautiful view. Its only open between June and September, and the opening and closing nights are some of the best of the year."
TAYYABS
"Brick Lane in East London is renowned as being the curry capital of London. But in truth, you'll probably get a shit curry, or at the very least, get swung at by a drove of filthing Essex chumps, so just keep on walking down Brick Lane, turn left at Aldgate East station and go to Taayabs, and bring your own motherfucking booze as well."
BAR STORY
"This cocktail bar is set inside one of the arches underneath the train tracks in Peckham. I tried to get a job here once and did a trial shift for free, but then they ‘employed the wrong Josh by mistake’. Thats the bullshit excuse they gave me, but I don’t hold grudges and i can still enjoy it there, thats the kind of person I am."
LA BODEGUITA
"Been here a couple of times, and rate those two nights as some of the best I've ever had. It's a Columbian restaurant on the outside of a really dodgy shopping mall in Elephant and Castle.
The food isn't anything special, but on Friday and Saturday, when the clock strikes 11, the tables get pushed to the side of the restaurant and all the South American locals that live in the area start Salsa dancing until the early hours."
