Live Review: Whisky Winter 'Sahara'

13 May 2014 | 12:55 pm | Lauren Payne

Perth's Whisky Winter has released a brand new track called 'Sahara' which will introduce you to the world of 'folktronica'.

This is WHISKY WINTER, a singer/songwriter who describes himself as a "folktronica" act. You may have heard the name before on SID PATTINI's track 'Mr Alpha' however, this artist puts forward more than just wonderful vocals.

Aaron Malone have found a great blend of each genre to place in their latest track 'Sahara'. Sounding as warm as the tunes namesake, the buzzing synths and hearty vocals create a space of sound that engulfs you and soothes you.

'Sahara' fades itself in until you hear the guitars broodingly framing what is to  come. The deep vocals of Malone seem to emphasise the almost haunting introduction to the track as it compliments the low guitar chords and synths hover underneath them both. This track has many faces and sections that all seem to ease into each other.
