Live Review: Jacques Greene 'No Excuse' (Fort Romeau Remix)

30 May 2014 | 2:05 pm | Lauren Payne

Fort Romeau transforms Jacques Greene's 'No Excuse' into a calming liquidated track.

With JACQUES GREENE's latest EP, Phantom Vibrate, zooming across the internet at lightning speed, the producer has most likely got him name plastered on the front page of every blog and music website you come across.

The three song EP was released in April and listeners have been loving the brooding, atmospheric melodies that come from GREENE's arsenal.

'No Excuse' was the first track to be released from Phantom Vibrate. After performing at Field Day in Sydney, JACQUES GREENE released 'No Excuse' and announcing  the entire EP. The track was a very good starting point as it twirling synths, soulful vocals and hard percussion made themselves known very quickly and 'No Excuse' started the crazy hype for the entire EP.

FORT ROMEAU has taken 'No Excuse' and transformed it into a sweet new remix to keep us all dancing throughout the winter months. Everyone has their summer dance tracks and this one will most definitely be one for the colder nights out. With FORT ROMEAU producing spectacular remixes over the years, you can tell they've got their craft covered and once their 'No Excuse' mix begins, you already know you're in for something good.

As soon as the new mix begins we hear the reverb infused vocals hovering over a very catchy beat. The beat is being created by a series of percussion instruments including a few steel drums which make it sound slightly brighter than GREENE's original. A cooler synth track is soon brought it and the crisp air of the track reminds you of that winter rain that pours onto your window. The mix feels much smoother than the original with the melody gliding through the track with all of the liquid synths working together to produce a velvety sound.

The FORT ROMEAU mix will be featured on the upcoming Phantom Vibrate Remix EP which you know you saw coming. The EP features mixes from YUNG GUD, KIT GRILL and AREA FORTY ONE and will no doubt be a blissful EP that will be soothing your ears. The EP will be released on May 30 so keep an eye out for those download links.
