Live Review: iLL Blu 'Blu Magic' ft. Max Marshall (DJ S.K.T Remix)

UK's rising producer, DJ and label manager of Up-Tempo Records, DJ S.K.T has created a name for himself in the underground music scene, through remixes (particularly his take on MIGUEL's 'Adorn') and his seamless fusion of genres.

According to this interview the music all-rounder initially got into DJing after his parents gave him  £300 to decorate his bedroom, but instead the money went towards a second hand pair of Sound Lab belt drive decks and the room is still to be re-decorated.

Whilst noted for drawing musical inspiration from a wide array, his deep house branding is unmissable and doesn't go astray in his latest remix of ILL BLU's 'Blu Magic' featuring Max Marshall.

Extending the introduction and dialling down the original's brighter tones, DJ S.K.T's remix lets the bass breathe and flourish inbetween the fidgety rhythm, luscious vocal samples and warbled synths. There's a reason why he's known for his deep house cuts, and this doesn't quarell with that.
