Live Review: LISTEN: Safia 'Paranoia, Ghosts & Other Sounds' (Paces Remix)
Gold Coast producer Paces has put a more tropical feel onto Safia's latest track before he jets off to play Groovin' the Moo.
The Canberra electronic trio SAFIA recently released their track 'Paranoia, Ghosts And Other Sounds' which was a massive hit around Australia.
The melodic synths and light beat created a dreamy atmosphere with Benjamin Joseph's soothing vocals drifting off into the song as it played on. The track has since been remixed by Brisbane production tycoon YOUNG FRANCO and now Gold Coast man PACES has decided to give 'Paranoia, Ghosts And Other Sounds' a crack, bringing in his own signature flavour.
Everyone loves PACES' work, whether it's his solo projects like 'Leave' or tracks he's created collaboratively in SURECUT KIDS such as their bootleg of FLUME and CHET FAKER's track 'Drop The Game'. PACES is a veteran of the Australian dance scene and with his mind immersed in SAFIA's latest track, we now have a final product with a tropical Gold Coast groove that only PACES could deliver.

Opening with a very similar introduction to SAFIA's mix, 'Paranoia, Ghosts And Other Sounds' pumps through very steadily with the distorted vocals still dominating the track. PACES has added in a few brighter synths and light marimbas to create a more summery feel. It's not until a bit later in the track that we get into the full groove of the remix. We have a faster pace and many more energetic synths that guide us through the rest of 'Paranoia, Ghosts And Other Sounds'.
PACES will be performing at Groovin' The Moo in Townsville this May alongside WHAT SO NOT, DISCLOSURE, WAVE RACER and local producer ATTICUS BEATS, so go and check him out when you venture up to the sunny town.
