Live Review: LISTEN: Banks 'Brain' (Ta-Ku Remix)

The most recent drop from the musically generous Perth producer TA-KU comes in the form of a BANKS remix of her track ‘Brain.’ From the love this track has already received over the past few days since it hit SoundCloud, it seems TA-KU taking on BANKS was a pairing many were eager to see, and for good reason.

The remix is comprised of two parts, split by a short few seconds of silence which only heightens the dramatic aesthetic this track creates. The first section features distorted vocals along with plenty of strings and synths, whereas the second sees the vocals soften and the sound becomes more spacious and simplistic.

TA-KU has managed to hold on to the haunting vibe of the original track produced by SHLOHMO, while adding that value of emotion and melancholy he is so well known and respected for.
