Live Review: LISTEN: Chrome Sparks 'Goddess' + New EP Announced

4 April 2014 | 3:10 pm | Lauren Payne

Brooklyn's Chrome Sparks is set to return in late April with a brand new EP titled 'Goddess'.

CHROME SPARKS has not been heard from much since his 2013 EP 'Sparks' was released thanks to our friends over at Future Classic, and we mentioned him as one of our many Artists To Watch in 2014.

The Brooklyn producer, aka Jeremy Malvin, has been working on a different project of late, attempting to have lunch with a new person each day and now after a short wait, CHROME SPARKS is set to return in late April with a brand new EP called 'Goddess'.

The forthcoming release is set to be a more matured than 'Sparks', showcasing his new material in ways that we haven’t seen SPARKS before. 'Goddess' features six brand new tracks that all have their own signature sound showing the artist's ear for a delicate variety of sounds. You’ll be treated to the tracks ‘The Meaning Of Love’, ‘Star Step’, companion tracks ‘Enter the Chrome Forest’ and Lost In The Chrome Forest’ as well as the hip-hop influenced track ‘ZzzzzZ’. With the Goddess EP now having a release date, Malvin has chosen to celebrate by making the EP’s title track, ‘Goddess’, available to stream so everyone knows what they’re in for.

Opening with some very soothing synths, ‘Goddess’ shines brightly with beaming synths shining with light percussion in its shadow. An intelligible vocal track twists, turns, bends and stretches it’s self throughout the track with a variety of samples shooting alongside it rapidly. The track slowly builds itself up before breaking into a very steady section with a heavy beat thumping its way through.

This track sounds almost like it was created with space in mind but it also proves that CHROME SPARKS definitely knows how to get you hooked with the power of his production.
