Live Review: LISTEN: Rufus 'Sundream' (Hayden James Remix)

22 March 2014 | 4:20 pm | Lauren Payne

Hayden James is the first to release his remix of Rufus' track 'Sundream' following the release of the Sundream Remix EP.

So far this year RUFUS have already announced one last Australian tour before they go to Berlin to write album number two, but before all of that begins, they've released a new remix EP for their track 'Sundream'.

'Sundream' is the first track on Atlas and it has the same relaxed tone as 'Desert Night', with the added bonus of brighter synths making it less of a minimalist track.

The Remix EP features contributions from WORDLIFE and CLAPTONE, but whilst they aren't available to stream just yet, today we able to listen to the HAYDEN JAMES remix through SoundCloud. HAYDEN JAMES has been busy recording for the past three months and this new remix is sure to be one of his best so far, although it's been pretty hard to top his remix of SNAKAKDAKTAL's 'Fall Underneath'.

We open with the wonderful vocals of RUFUS' own Tyrone Lindqvist with pulsating synths pushing through the vocals before breaking out into a very chopped melody full of twinkles  and clicks. With synths bursting at every turn, the HAYDEN JAMES remix never loses it's energy with percussion exploding across 'Sundream' the beat is very loose.

HAYDEN JAMES still has a variety of other projects ready for release later on in 2014, so keep an eye out for some new material from that amazing producer.
