Live Review: LISTEN: Frames 'Pacifique' EP

31 March 2014 | 10:07 pm | Lauren Payne

Sydney's Frames, after dropping a collaborative EP with Forrest, has now put out his own solo release through Club Sweat.

FRAMES has come out of the shadows with a new release through Sweat It Out's house imprint Club Sweat. A while back the Sydney producer released a smooth original sampling KYLIE MINOGUE's  'Slow' through the label and he recently released a collaborative EP with FORREST.

Now FRAMES is ready to release his Pacifique EP, which features a trio of tracks that will be ready to bring the summer into the oncoming winter.

'Pacifique' is probably the more unique offering on the release. Being the title track, it should stand out form the other tracks and it does so by utilising a very exotic vocal. With 'Pacifique' being a collaboration between FRAMES and FELIX LLOYD, it converges a series of elements that stem from two different minds. With soft marimbas floating behind the vocals, twisting synths sliping in and out; beaming synths also holding the catchy melody together.

Focusing on more of the house side of things, FRAMES keeps deeper synths chugging along in 'Lunar Lagoon' as well as a few popping samples which dance over very, very smooth melodies.
