WATCH: DMA’s ‘Delete’ (Official Video)
Australian party throwers and now highly acclaimed record label I OH YOU have just announced their latest signing. They are an act known as DMA’s and their sound tips it’s hat to the late 80’s British Madchester scene with enough modern influence thrown in to make them truly unique.
Anyway we’ll let label head JOHANN PONNIAH tell the story of the Sydney band’s signing…
“In September last year a good friend (who I guess I owe a beer to now) called me up and began barking down my phone about an amazing young band from Newtown who had been recording some tracks in their guitarist’s bedroom, before I could respond to his words he had excitedly exclaimed that he would email me a demo and hung up the phone.
Three minutes later the demo arrived in his inbox. We ended up signing that young band from Newtown who have been recording tracks in their guitarist’s bedroom and will be releasing said tracks in the form of the band’s self-titled debut EP on the 28th of March. With that news, today we are ecstatic to welcome Newtown’s very own DMA’s to the I OH YOU label roster.
There’s not really much to be said about DMA’s to be honest; they’ve never played a show and are yet to properly release a track. So instead of some lengthy description about the band’s history and quoting what someone said about them that one time in an effort to convince you that you have the same opinion… I’m just going to tell you that I really love the songs they write and I’m going give you a peek at what they’ve been working on.”
‘Delete’ is available via iTunes now – taken from DMA’s self titled debut EEP out March 28 through I OH YOU.
Keep up with the band on FACEBOOK.
