Live Review: LISTEN: Lancelot 'Givin' It Up' ft. Antony & Cleopatra (MK Remix)

As if being picked up by ANJUNADEEP wasn't good enough for him, young producer LANCELOT has gone and got himself some amazing remixers for his latest single 'Givin' It Up'. Namingly MK.

Marc Kinchen, more easily abbreviated to MK is, to put it frankly, a living house legend. Recently remixing just about everyone under the sun, he's certainly got an ear for what's new and groundbreaking. It was really only a matter of time until he picked up LANCELOT's latest tune featuring ANTONY & CLEOPATRA.

Starting off quite anonymously, the beginning few bars are in fact identical to the intro of the original before breaking down into an entirely re-imagined tune (the idea being to create surprise in a DJ set). MK does this masterfully, changing up the vibe completely by cutting up the smooth vocal hooks into percussive instruments that lace the forefront of the tune, amongst colourful and rich house pianos.

As the tune progresses, it reaches deeper territories, introducing chordal pads and velvet basslines that offer hazy visions of blue-light club floors and dark nights.

The MK remix will be seeing its own official release through ANJUNADEEP on 17th Feb 2014.
