Live Review: LISTEN: Alison Valentine 'Curious' (Chrome Sparks Disco Remix)

CHROME SPARKS aka Jeremy Malvin from Ann Arbor, Michigan is one of the latest additions to FUTURE CLASSIC (the Aussie label that's been going from strength to strength ever since the induction of a little artist named FLUME, in case you didn't know).

Mr. SPARKS has hit us with a brand new remix, and this time he's gone all disco on us. Completely overwhelmed with lazer samples (in true CHROME SPARKS fashion), the young producers remix of ALISON VALENTINE's playful single 'Curious' takes him into deep territories of heavy retro-chic disco funk.

A sound that was least expected to come from CHROME SPARKS, but a sound that totally gels in a sort of 'I can't believe it's not butter' kind of way.

Whilst taking this tune into an Italo-Studio 54 realm, many things still remain CHROME SPARKS-style. For example, the overloaded keyboard synth solos and intricate attention to detail in every facet of the sound design.

ALISON VALENTINE's luscious and silken vocals stay mostly intact the whole way through, graceful vocal hooks float in and out whilst the kick drums rolls ever-forward.
