Live Review: WATCH: Bobmo 'Sonic Soul' (Official Video)

4 January 2014 | 12:01 am | Hannah Galvin

Subsequent to his remixes EP release, Bobmo has just dropped the clip to 'Sonic Soul' that he helped direct alongside Theo Pozoga.

French man Hugues Rey is a profound fan of ghetto house and techno music; so much so that he's crafted his own music under the name BOBMO.

Since releasing his remixes EP to 'Sonic Soul', the man has gone on to create the visual clip to the track that was co-directed by himself and Théo Pozoga who also edited the product until its completion.

Through the rise of instrumentation with thanks to both the complacent synths and rigid suspense built behind them, we're taken in transit as we glide over a Swedish railway line. Through the impact of the song's journey, the establishment of beats and depth invert the colours on our screen, at times splattering even more colours and images over the former layer, as well as fusing the lines and shapes of the true images to become an abstract mess.

Identifying a sense of longevity, we never stop travelling on this train, all the while experiencing every season of the year. Leaving us with the initial hit of light from exiting a dark tunnel, it's the figure right before this that makes us question the motives behind the clip. Could this be symbolic of a long and meaningless life? That's for you to decide.

Bobmo's 'Sonic Soul' remixes EP features renditions by Teengirl FantasyMaelström and SCNTST and is available for digital download on iTUNES via Marble Music.
