Live Review: LISTEN: Disclosure 'January' (Kaytranada Remix)

Canadian beatsmith and legit cool dude KAYTRANADA has released his official remix for DISCLOSURE's deep party track 'January (ft. Jamie Woon)', which will be appearing on the huge upcoming remix album simply entitled 'Settle - The Remixes'. Deep house and garage fans alike rejoice!

KAYTRANADA hijacks the track and does what he does best with it. He turns it up on its head and turns the 'funk' knob up from 5 to 11. Keeping a quasi-house vibe on the tune he imprints a certain motif of hip hop, with boom bap-y drum samples, and P-funk inspired synths walking all over the track.

JAMIE WOON's smooth and luscious vocal lines are kept intact for the duration of this remix, whilst all the synths and drum rhythms are switched up, breathing new life into the track.
