ARTISTS TO WATCH IN 2014: Chrome Sparks

25 December 2013 | 12:00 am | Tony Kingston

In 2014 you will almost definitely be able to add Brooklyn's Jeremy Malvin (a.k.a Chrome Sparks) to Future Classic's never ending list of very successful artists.

When an artist gets signed to Future Classic you know they're destined for big things. This was demonstrated through the success of FLUME and FLIGHT FACILITIES and in more recent times, WAVE RACER, CLASSIXXTOUCH SENSITIVE and PANAMA.

In 2014 you will almost definitely be able to add Brooklyn's Jeremy Malvin (a.k.a CHROME SPARKS) to that never ending list.

Jeremy grew up in Pittsburgh before moving to Ann Arbor to study percussion. These days he makes his own beats and released a six track EP titled 'Sparks' in March this year, which had listeners jumping up and down with excitement. One fan translates the release with the following simple yet accurate description: "It's one of those WTF moments, when your brain says "hey", your ears say "check it", then everything just falls into place and your insides are pleased with the experience. Flow worthy!".

Another fan describes it a little more elegantly calling it "an uplifting EP with clean and clever production". Whatever way you look at it, CHROME SPARKS appears to have a sound any lover of electronic music will easily enjoy. This year he has been showing off his live show, which is projected through a three piece band. You can check out a sample below as they perform his track 'Send The Pain On'. Even the pot plant is having fun!

With new productions just around the corner and a clearly enjoyable live experience which will hopefully be making its way to Australia soon (perhaps at Vivid LIVE as apart of the Future Classic night?), CHROME SPARKS is an artist you'll be hearing a lot more of in 2014!
