The enigmatic and relatively unknown (until now) producer, YEO, has presented a myriad of soundscapes over the course of three backyard-crafted, self-released albums. Now he hits the floor running with his latest single, 'Girl,' - which sees the Melbourne local creating a sound that is all his own.

In the past Yeo has dropped tracks as varied from bright Pop through to Rock, Soul, Electronica and R&B Slow Jams. With his most recent LP, Sell Out (released last year), drew praise from a wide range of music media including everyone's favourite Triple J presenter, Lewi McKirdy.

But as mentioned, we feel that 'Girl,' is where Yeo has finally found the style and soundscape to lay his creations. The track is the first taste we have off the producer's forthcoming EP - which is slated for a 2014 release. With simple and subtle percussion, an enchanting guitar line and layers of distorted synths and organs - we see Yeo embrace glitchy synth-based Electronica with his whole being.

Guided by a pretty solid vocal hook, the track centralises itself around maintaining accessible pop elements, and it's clear that Yeo is a very smart artist with an extremely bright future ahead of him. So best you get on board before he blows up.

'Girl,' also comes with a charmingly simple driving clip - shot by Ruwan De Silva and Jenna Dawkins.
