Live Review: WATCH: Arcade Fire 'Afterlife' (Official Video)

Arcade Fire have collaborated with The Creators Project and produced a wonderful music video for their track 'Afterlife'.

The story of ARCADE FIRE's new album Reflektor is an interesting one as it involves countless tales of epic collaborations and beautiful music videos with a few live shows as THE REFLEKTORS thrown in.

ARCADE FIRE have created an album that possesses a narrative filled with life. 'Afterlife' was released a few weeks back as a lyric video and once listened to, you're instantly taken into a lovely state of mind. The single now has it's own music video which was created and released on the Youtube channel The Creators Project, who have done some fantastic work with musicians recently including an interactive video with QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE.

The seven-minute video begins very simply, with a family of three sitting at a dinner table and just having a regular conversation. This seems pretty normal of course, but as the eldest son leaves to go to a friends house, the younger son is put to bed and the father falls asleep on the couch, a sweeter side of the clip emerges.

We are then shown each member of the family having dreams about the same woman, presumably their absent mother. The eldest son rides in the back of the car with her, the youngest son is almost washed in a washing machine before she pulls him out, and the father finds her at an underground party. The imagery in the video is astounding, the wonderful visuals work well together, creating these dream-like states and making them visibly different from the family's reality.

ARCADE FIRE will be in Australia next year to perform at Big Day Out alongside PEARL JAM and BLUR which will definitely be a show to see. In the lead up to their Australian shows the band will no doubt be releasing more wonderful videos and if you happen to catch a REFLEKTORS show, then I think you'd probably be one of the luckiest people ever.
