Live Review: SOUNDCLOUD WRAP: Tyler Touche

21 November 2013 | 1:07 pm | Nick Luke

Brisbane-local nu-disco producer TYLER TOUCHE gave us the lowdown on some of his favourite tracks at the moment.

Who is the 'young funkster' making waves with his radical nu-disco beats, most accurately described as Australia's answer to the likes of Breakbot, Louis La Roche, and dare I even say Daft Punk? Well I'll tell you - it's TYLER TOUCHE, of course.

Young Brisbane-native nu-disco house producer, TYLER TOUCHE has only been making beats for 2 years tops (under this alias) and has already managed to appear at many festivals and shows around the country, as well as releasing a butt-tonne of music whilst he's doing it.

We got the lucky chance to pick TYLER's brain about what music he's currently digging at the moment for the latest installment of our SOUNDCLOUD WRAP series. Here's what he had to show us:

VANGUARD 'Everytime'

"VANGUARD's new EP 'Diver' has an impressive array of nostalgic 80s sounds that still sound fresh. The track 'Everytime' features luscious sampling and a catchy little vocal sample."

CHEROKEE 'Don't Matter (feat. Darianna)'

"CHEROKEE bring a silky smooth new single to their discography, this time nailing the deep funky sound."

MIAMI HORROR 'Real Slow'

"A great disco pop song for long drives to the beach through the summer. This song really grew on me. Looking forward to hearing new stuff from these guys in the near future."

BLACK YAYA 'Paint A Smile On Me'

"This is a happy little song that you should start every morning with. It was released on Yuksek's Partyfine label, who have had a bunch of great releases, so I'm looking forward to seeing what else they put out."

SKREAM 'Rollercoaster (ft. Sam Frank)'

"SKREAM's change from dubstep to disco has shown his versatility as a producer, and definitely his ability to write a killer disco hit. This song has a lot of interesting colours and harmony which is always pleasant on the ears."

MICHAEL JACKSON 'Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' (Louis La Roche Remix)'

"A great take on a classic MJ tune that makes it a little more dance floor friendly, while staying true to the original."

MOON BOOTS 'Love Strong'

"I've been loving everything MOON BOOTS has had his hand on recently. So much groove."

THE MAGICIAN 'Enchanted Land'

"THE MAGICIAN returns with a killer club tune that features on old school house sound. It will definitely make an appearance throughout some of my sets over the summer."

FLIGHT FACILITIES 'Clair De Lune ft. Christine Hoberg (Prins Thomas Diskomiks)'

"This groovy reinterpretation of FLIGHT FACILITIES' solemn single Clair De Lune brings it to the dance floor, without entirely destroying the initial emotion behind the original."
