Rice Is Nice's Summer Flake have revealed the film clip to their track 'Drag You Down' before heading out on their Australian headlining tour!
Rice Is Nice's latest signee SUMMER FLAKE has exhibited her track 'Drag You Down' in the form of a film clip.
Created by her friend Dan Koerner through a video-cassette medium, the video to 'Drag You Down' offers a time of winding down due to the soothing guitar melodies and cold washed-out look of most of the clips presence; shot in Western Australias coastal town of Middleton.
Due to the tape-format though, Koerner found that he'd non-deliberately taped over his step-mother's video of a play she once featured in. So for what has been left unaffected, the old footage has been incorporated into the clip. Not particularly meaning anything, this happy accident settles as more of an eased contrast with a personal, genuine touch. This is greatly indicative during the double-framing towards the end of the clip.
'Drag You Down' really draws attention to the electric guitar used both visually and audibly, as we watch the strings on its body being plucked, bent and swept against, creating a raw, classic outlook of how necessary the instrument is in shaping the mood and sound that is Summer Flake.
