Live Review: LISTEN: Say Lou Lou 'Better In The Dark'

They've taken their time with this one, but finally, on the back of a sterling cover of Tame Impala's 'Feels Like We Only Go Backwards' - SAY LOU LOU have released a new single - 'Better In The Dark'.

In terms of their own material, it's been a whole five months since the band's previous release, 'Fool For You'. And whilst another standalone single makes us think that a new album must surely be on the horizon, there's no news on that yet. For now, we'll have to settle with 'Better In The Dark'. The single package comes with B-Side 'Beloved', as well as remixes from Tiger & Woods, Andrea and Hygrade.

Say Lou Lou have a habit of creating really inspiring pop tunes, and 'Better In The Dark' is not exception. With undertones of dark synth lines and moody key progression - the light and airy vocals of both Australian/Sweden sisters add some really strong contrast. The track is transformed into this grandiose production, with the synths becoming hugely expansive and tribal percussion production taking over. We liken it to when Florence Welch made actual music.

Say whatever you want, but we see Say Lou Lou taking over your radio's very soon.

The 'Better In The Dark' single package is out November 25 via Columbia Records.
