Live Review: LISTEN: Kaytranada 'Hilarity Duff'

His label, HW&W tells us we're not supposed to call it an EP, but now that we've heard the B-Side to KAYTRANADA's 'All That' - we want to call the 3 track release an EP. It definitely sounds big enough to be an EP.

Anyway, regardless of what you call the All That/Hilarity Duff Split, we're gonna say it one of the best electronic releases of the year. You've already heard/seen the former, but today we bring you the latter - 'Hilarity Duff'.

Apart from the brilliant name, which we hoped meant that the track would actually be a bootleg of Hilary and Haylie Duff's hit 'Our Lips Are Sealed', the track builds on the A-Side, with prominent synth hits at the forefront. Kaytranada throws another intricate and intriguing drum arrangement in the mix, demonstrating the unique style he has as well as his ability to create a flawless R&B-Electronic-fusion track.

Coming off the back of a huuuuge first Australian tour, one that was co-headlined with all round good guy, Ryan Hemsworth, Kay is creating hip-hop influenced gems after gems. Although he's been around the traps for a while, he's still a rising talent and we can't wait to hear the next synth heavy jam from him.
