First Act Announced For Golden Plains 8

One of Australia's most beloved festivals, GOLDEN PLAINS, is working towards its 8th installment in 2014. And today they announce the annual event's first act as well as other necessary details. Time to get that cash together.

Now, although its expected for a festival to be excited over its own lineup - we're pretty stoked to hear what good old Aunty Meredith has to say about her baby festival's 8th birthday.

"We sure have seen some Astonishing Things Happen over the years in the Meredith Supernatural Amphitheatre... but NEVER anything quite like this.

Today - we are BEYOND HONOURED and insanely excited to announce that an iconic, unparalleled, revolutionary phenomenon will Bring The Noise to Golden Plains Eight. Yes! Hip Hop Royalty, Rock N Roll Hall of Famers, an EXPLOSION OF ENTERTAINMENT that feeds your mind and soul; once-in-a-generation renegades who raised a social, cultural, political and musical consciousness up into the speakers of millions. Don't Believe The Hype!"

You know what that means people... yep... Public Enemy are headed down to rural Victoria in 2014!! The act will be bringing a 10-piece extravaganza to the Sunday night of Golden Plains. It'll the first time the gang will be in the country since their appearance at the 2010 Falls Festival - and if its anywhere near as awesome as that was - it's not something to be missed.

With this first act drop, comes the rest of the important details. Lets throw them in dot point form:

• There are two rounds (draws) of the Ballot. The First Round available only to existing Subscribers; the Second Round is open to new Subscribers as well as existing Subscribers. You only have to enter once.
• Two rounds of ticket offers are made via email to successful applicants; one on or before October 23, and one on October 30. Any Subscribers who are unsuccessful in the first round are automatically entered into the second round ballot.
• There’s only one type of ticket: the Full Golden Plains Experience (Saturday to Monday, including camping and parking); is $319 + $10 booking. (Ballot & Online tickets via Registered Post is $7).
• As always, Golden Plains will be held at the beautiful Meredith Supernatural Amphitheatre over the weekend of 8-10 of March 2014 (that's Labour Day Weekend for Victorians)
• The rest of lineup will be dropping around the time of the ballot results, so expect that to be anywhere from October 23-30
• Same number of people as last year, no commercial sponsors, no dickheads, BYO; plenty of Time and Space for everyone.
