Live Review: LISTEN: DCUP 'Don't Be Shy' (Wave Racer Remix)

Jumping on remix duties for DCUP's latest upcoming single 'Don't Be Shy', WAVE RACER is further solidifying his reputation as one of the biggest names in the new wave of Aussie producers.

Even though we haven't heard the original DCUP tune yet, it is quite evident that this remix is far away from the territories of the original single. WAVE RACER's trademark treatments are wrapped around this track tightly - glistening arpeggios, vocals given the frenetic pitch treatment, pounding larger-than-life synth bass, all tied up nicely in a 2-step hip-hop beat.

Never tiring of new melodic ideas, new lead lines sparkle in and splinter off into avenues of dazzling sound. If you asked me to describe the sound of WAVE RACER in just one word, my reply would be: "Fireworks." Pure and simple, this maximalist giant of a track sounds like a flurry of fireworks illuminating the sky in a strictly choreographed show of dazzling energy.
