Live Review: WATCH: Mount Kimbie 'Home Recording' (Official Video)

28 August 2013 | 11:59 pm | Hannah Galvin

Mount Kimbie have just dropped the sublime clip to their track 'Home Recording'.

English outfit MOUNT KIMBIE released their groundbreaking sophomore effort earlier this year, titled Cold Spring Fault Less Youth. After first hearing 'Made To Stray', we've since grown extremely warm to the album based on our countless listens; acknowledging the collaborations and different styles that unveil as you listen on.

One of those tracks that push the boundaries of Mount Kimbie's second record is 'Home Recording', a pretty little track carrying dark undertones. This theme hasn't been ignored in further creations, as the duo have just dropped their faultless clip to the track, directed by Anthony Dickenson.

Double exposed frames make an artistic comment through the prevalent juxtaposition of natural light against artificial, picking at a deeper message. There is also a visual contrast between the solidarity of an individual reflecting off the streets of a lit, live city; yet all involved still tend to evoke a sense of loneliness.

Although this video appears to hit the viewer with some sense of instability and loss of soul, it's a truly beautiful piece of visual imagery collating stunning cinematography amongst the rations of both busy and secluded areas and beings in their most vulnerable states.
