PURITY RING and JON HOPKINS have had a close relationship for a while now. From when he mixed their track ‘Saltkin’ to when he remixed ‘Amenamy’, which both feature on PURITY RING‘s album Shrines; the two acts seem to share a bond.

JON HOPKINS is is receiving a lot of praise at the moment for his album latest Immunity, which features tracks that are both confident and dramatic.

‘Breathe This Air’ has the vocals of PURITY RING‘s Megan James. The ethereal track now wears another layer of depth with James’ vocals echoing over the trickling synths and sweeping melodies, ‘Breathe This Air’ sounds almost heavenly.

The quick-cut echoes that frame each section of the track really give it character, James’ vocals add in a sweet charm to the tough sounding mid-section, making things sound less threatening. But this one is basically the soundtrack of a perfect dream, there are your sweet starts, your loud, frantic middle and of course your mysterious ending, which is when of course you wake up and wonder what just happened to you.

Both JON HOPKINS and the wonderful PURITY RING have been travelling the United States together doing shows that attendees would be soothed by with the light mixes that these two acts tend to produce.

JON HOPKINS is now heading over to the UK for quite a long tour, and so if you enjoy his music, you better get your hands on Immunity because this is all we’ll be hearing from him for a while as he’s busy making everyone hypnotised by his music.
