Live Review: WATCH: LDRU 'The Tropics' (Ego Video Mix)

When you get two unique artists working together on a project, the final product is usually something phenomenal. Some of the combinations can be quite interesting, like an artist and a musician or a dancer and a film director, but this pairing of two electronic musicians (one of which already mixes images with sound), has just become the pairing that's going to dominate.

One half of the pair is Future Classic's latest signing L D R U, who has been hard at work creating some infectious dance tracks for us all. Just recently L D R U presented us with his own remix of LORDE's 'Love Club', which was really smooth and tranquil, and now next up we have an original track mixes a tropical vibe with a twinge of mystery called 'The Tropics'.

It's synths slide through the track with some crazy sirens, and a high pitched whistle-like synth, and really together it all sounds rad.

Now the second half of the pairing is the audio-visual genius EGO, who has directed the music video for L D R U's interesting new track. EGO has taken a firm grasp of 'The Tropics' and created a visual feast of colour and palm trees that basically reminds us of that summer season we all miss so much. The video was picked up by SKRILLEX, DIPLO and A-TRAK who have premiered the video on their Youtube channel POTATOwillEATyou.

This is only EGO's latest effort with fantastic videos for THE PRESETS, TA-KU, LANCELOT and CLUBFEET all in his portfolio already. The man is a visual genius mixing electronic anthems with videos that capture the essence of the track and release it into the eyes of fans, not just their ears. Now for some more exciting news!

EGO has used 'The Tropics' as a preview for his new visual show A Trip With Ego which will kick off with the release of a new mixtape later this month. L D R U's track is the first track that will be featured on the mixtape, and whilst playing various shows around the country, EGO will also be holding workshops in Sydney. The workshops will be in Redfern and in Sydney's Apple Store and EGO will be showing fans how he works his revolutionary style of production, this is something you don't want to miss.
