WRAP UP: Poolside @ Studio 301, Byron Bay
We threw a (pre) pre-Splendour party called Poolside and this is how it all went down.
Although the summer months are still a little while away, we here at PURPLE SNEAKERS still love a good old fashioned pool party.
With so many people congregating down in Byron Bay for the kick-off of Splendour In The Grass 2013, PURPLE SNEAKERS together with our friends Stoney Roads and Sweat It Out! Got together at Studio 301 in the small coastal town and threw a pretty amazing poolside party, called quite simply Poolside, to celebrate the beginning of one of Australia’s most anticipated festivals.
The team we assembled to play at the event was pretty stellar: WHAT SO NOT, YOLANDA BE COOL, INDIAN SUMMER, STONEY ROADS DJS and our very own PURPLE SNEAKERS DJS all decided that our Poolside event would be the perfect way to start the Splendour weekend and all agreed to play a set for us. RUFUS became a last minute addition to the bill as well.

Poolside began at 5pm sharp with PURPLE SNEAKERS DJS batting our pals STONEY ROADS DJS in a lovely little DJ battle. INDIAN SUMMER then took over throwing in their signature style of music with some of our favourite house tracks. More and more punters dropped in as the reins were passed over to WHAT SO NOT. The dancefloor was soon flooded and Poolside was well and truly underway.
Although the weather ceased the use of the pool that Studio 301 has at it’s disposal, the pool toys still got a bit of a workout with everyone bringing in the tubes and beach balls and just having a mad time. As more of our acts stepped up to the plate the night just got better and better, there were hook-ups, there were hot dog costumes and really Poolside became a night that no one would soon forget.
