Live Review: LISTEN: Lancelot 'Thinking Of You' EP

Sydney dance wizard LANCELOT is back again with a brand new EP entitled Thinking Of You, and it's early morning disco madness is just something that you can't help but love.

The EP is riddled with atmospheric synths and so playing it at your next midnight bash would be a must. The first track on Thinking Of You borrows some vocals from local songbird WHYTE FANG and is of course the perfectly fitting title track.

Channelling a more disco-like feel, 'Thinking Of You' begins with a very solid beat that just rolls on through the track with WHYTE FANG's lovely vocals floating high about the melody. The lyrics are simple and once you have listened to the track enough times, I'm sure you'll be singing along when you think that no one can hear you.

'Rozette', the second song on the EP, opens with a little more of a spacial synth track, like you've been transported out into space suddenly and aren't too sure how to get back. It's atmospheric synths sound like something completely out of this world, and that's how the melody stays until there's a brief break of a womanly moan, drawing you back into reality. It's after this that the track gets into full swing, the beat stays steady and the space-like synths amplify themselves automatically.

The last two tracks are remixes by some great producers from Europe. 'Thinking Of You' has been tweaked by Parisian producer LE CRAYON and his synths that take over the track sound a lot more sharp that LANCELOT's original. The disco track has now been transformed into a track with an edge that just seems to jump out at you any chance it gets, and leaving the vocals extremely similar to the original was definitely a good move because WHYTE FANG's voice is just lovely.

Next up we have Italian's MENNIE & MARIO PIU who have taken 'Thinking Of You' as well and put their own little twist of disco into the track making the beat a little faster and adding in some more of those synths that make you feel like you're high in the clouds and just can't seem to come back down.

LANCELOT is about to jet off on a small European tour so Thinking Of You acts as a little parting gift to us all as he goes, see you soon brother!
