CANT SAY have a history of bringing the best up and coming live acts to their tiny stage. Acts like Hunting Grounds, Snakadaktal, Northeast Party House and The Cairos have all kept the party going way past their set time. And come July 19, we'll be able to add another name to that list - WAX WITCHES.

That's right, headlining the night of the 19th of July, we have the side/solo project of Bleeding Knees Club (who have also played live at CANT SAY) - Alex Wall.

If possible, Wax Witches, is even more snotty, frantic, dumb, lo-fi and badass than the songs that he's made famous for BKC. Its brat-blast noise-pop and gonzo garage-rock channels Wall’s professed love of California punk and psych culture, from The Descendents through to Ty Segall.

Coming out on CD and digital via new Sydney label Jerko (Step-Panther), with cassette coming from LA label Burger Records (Thee Oh Sees, King Tuff, OFF!) - Wall's debut LP, Celebrity Beatings was recording during downtime from BKC over the past year, “as a way to keep boredom at bay and record off-the-cuff at home.”

Wall played nearly every instrument and recorded and mixed all 16 songs at his Gold Coast home before being mastered by Straight ArrowsOwen Penglis. Follows recent singles ‘Help Me Out’ and ‘Santa Forgot Me’. Includes the “a faithfully pissed-off” Black Flag cover ‘Nervous Breakdown’ and the single ‘Alone'. With the help of a couple of friends, you'll hear Wall recreate it all live at CANT SAY as Wax Witches.

Supports in the forms of MARQUEE MOON and KOLORS. As well as the rest of the CANT SAY fam.

How did you get home last night?
