Live Review: LISTEN: Ta-Ku & Kit Pop '#TREATS' Mixtape
Ta-Ku and Kit Pop have put together a mixtape called ‘#TREATS’ and as the name pretty much lays out for you, it’s choc full of musical goodies.
I don’t know if you know, but Perth based DJ and remix legend TA-KU has is pretty much taking over the music scene right now. He’s remixed CITY CALM DOWN, DAUGHTER, THE PRESETS, FLUME and CLUBFEET but that’s only his most recent catalogue, TA-KU’s remixes go way back and its left him with a legacy that everyone in the know is following.
KIT POP is someone you may not have heard of. Also based in Perth, KIT POP is an electronic musician who’s creeping into everyone’s vision and will probably soon occupy it completely. Now both of these wonderful boys have given us a little present overnight in the form of a pretty rad mixtape.
The mixtape is called ‘#TREATS’ and as the name pretty much lays out for you, it’s choc full of musical goodies. It opens with a very deep voice chatting away, telling us a few facts about the tape but of course it’s the music that we all care about.

With a grand total of 35 songs thrown in, ‘#TREATS’ is a tape that has no real peak points because it’s just great the entire way through. It starts of pretty chilled out and flows this way for a while. SHLOHMO makes a few appearances with his tracks ‘Put It’ and ‘Bo Peep (Do You Right)’, the second which he recorded with JEREMIH not too long ago.
Fellow remix artist RYAN HEMSWORTH also makes an appearance on ‘#TREATS’ with his track ‘Overthinking’ followed of course by TA-KU’s ‘ONEFORTREY’ and KIT POP’s ‘Moodlight’.
‘#TREATS’ is available to download via Facebook or Soundcloud, depending on what way you’d rather do it.
