Live Review: LISTEN: Strange Talk 'Picking Up All The Pieces' (Ta-ku Remix)
Ta-ku creates a whimsical remix of Strange Talk's track 'Picking Up All the Pieces'.
Perth-based producer TA-KU has remixed so many artists, it's beginning to become hard to keep track of him because he pumps them out so damn rapidly. He's has become one of Australia's most popular producers switching his style from soulful mixer to 808 kick pumper in the process.
His new remix of STRANGE TALK's 'Picking Up All The Pieces' pumps up the 808's, but it's really quite relaxed overall, and it shows why TA-KU is such a popular producer.
The track has a wonderful synth melody that dances on top of a level beat that just cruises through the track. I quote Disney when I say, "true power is holding back" (I forget what movie that's actually from but the scene involved a drum kit and Vanessa Hudgens singing at some stage).
