It’s definitely time to step it up a notch! TWIGS, the unique London-based oddster is certainly rustling the autumn leaves with the release of her forth song ‘How’s That’. The shapeless form of this track, produced courtesy of Arca challenges the surreal combination of abstract beats and vocals, which string together the many layers of sounds heard throughout this number.
TWIGS’ sensual voice is as appealing as ever, giving her latest work a sexual and seductive vibe as she queries repetitively “how’s that.. feel?”, only revealing as the song progresses “That.. feels.. good.. so, so amazing”. ‘How’s that’ encompasses a vast range of haunting tones which slowly and subtly entrance our minds, leaving us with a somewhat eerie feel.
The youngsters latest release is host to all kinds of TWIGS-ISH madness, accompanied by a video likely to send one’s mind into overdrive, as the bizarre shapes and textures which slowly morph into a human body, cause us to feel calm and peaceful at points before catapulting us into a state of excitement. This outcome is parallel to the way TWIGS’ clever instrumentals and contrasting effects morph together to form a captivating song.

The sharp, chopped and chewed effects, add a hefty underflow to this track, which is appropriately peaceful with underlying hints of tension. The gentle beats and progressive clock-like tick’s, which often accompany TWIGS’ soft, intimate vocals are almost enough to make you push ‘repeat’.
Although we know little about the quirky songstress, her music and absorbing visuals, which have been hypnotizing us since the ghostly release of ‘Ache’ speak for themselves. ‘How’s That’, the latest release from the mysterious Londoner, is a mesmerizing number and is certainly one who’s volume you’ll want to crank up to enjoy the full effect of the utterly alluring music as it slithers through your speakers.
