LANA DEL REY has unmasked a chilling music video to accompany her forsaken love ballad ‘Young and Beautiful’, which features on the soundtrack for BAZ LUHRMANN’S most recent and highly anticipated film, The Great Gatsby.

This somber-sounding single makes DEL REY’S sultry voice sound smoother then ever as it tangles harmoniously with haunting instrumentals professing feelings of love, insecurities of aging as well as a self diagnosed  beauty. LANA lets the essence of her naturally mesmerizing vocals do all the work for her providing her listeners with a dark melancholic piece of music that is laced with enchanting beauty.

A temptress supported by glittering silver hoops and a striking black dress, the American singer-songwriter finds a solitary sense of soul and passion in her lyrics as she croons “Will you still love me, when I’m no longer young and beautiful?”. The slow beats of big drums combined with the emotive strings of the orchestra bring this number to a gradual yet intense climax whilst maintaining the ability to send shivers down out spines.

True to form LANA delivers to her audience a song filled with soft hypnotic elements, of desire, beauty and cinematic feeling. She places her lyrics in the hands of a faceless orchestra, silhouetted against a stripped down background, which illuminates the intensity of the eerie sounds and shadows that elegantly weave their way through this track. LANA DEL REY doesn’t attempt any high notes in this number, which supports the stark, striking visuals of her latest video as well as the creepy and ultimately haunting feeling of this song.

With each listen LANA's hair-raising lyrics linger in our minds as they alternate with footage of an orchestra playing in a darkened concert hall. Her unique sound will undoubtedly add a fascinating element to the Great Gatsby’s promising soundtrack, buy it now on iTunes.
