It's been approximately 100,000 guests, three quarters of a million drinks, and a shitload of questionable antics in the making to get this far, but we are proud to invite you to CANT SAY's second Birthday party! We're sure most of you are aware of the rise and fame of our humble Friday night home, but for those who aren't let's take a stroll down memory lane.
On the first of January, 2011, five friends found themselves hungover, scattered and fresh out of luck in an inner city living room. With no clue of the previous nights antics and in a last ditch effort to avoid their hangovers they decided to participate in a brain storming session, that would effectively see each of them work towards their New Years Resolutions. It's safe to say that not much was achieved on this day, however, one idea that did come to fruition was the idea of getting all their friends together more regularly. And so, it was with that the idea of CANT SAY was born.
From humble beginnings at our beloved MISS LIBERTINE, that saw just a few heads in the door, the night steadily kept growing, week in, week out, all the while the friends got no closer to actually achieving their New Years Resolutions.
It was with heavy hearts when back in February 2012, the friends received a call that would change everything. "Miss Libertines is no more" ... the words just didn't sound right and the friends felt physically sick to stomach the idea that their Friday night home would be coming to a close.

But they say when one door closes, another one opens. The friends searched high and low in desperate attempts to continue their Friday night tradition. And it was with one more phone call that once again changed everything. CANT SAY sprung to life in it's new home of Platform One in late March 2012. A breath of fresh life, if you will saw the night go from a small idea into what is now one of the most easily recognised club nights in the country.
Soon after the move saw acts such as FLUME, STAR SLINGER, WHAT SO NOT, DISCLOSURE, FLOSSTRADAMUS, LAST DINOSAURS and more all perform their first Melbourne Club shows. CANT SAY is now your go to spot on a Friday to discover new music, whether it be from bigger names internationally, or from our group of internationally reknowned residents.
This party, wouldn't be a party without the acts and drinks to back it up. We've enlisted the help of WHAT SO NOT to release their brand new EP "The Quack" (which was picked up by Sweat It Out music and also Skrillex himself), and supports in the form of SWICK (who has just released an EP with DIPLO) and TOMDERSON.
Drinks will be $3 until 10:30pm so be sure to get in early for this one. It's bound to be a party that will definitely be off the scale.
We'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for the countless hours that everyone has put into CANT SAY and making this a possibility. Whether you are a Promoter, a DJ, Punter, Bar Tender, or anyone, this night would not be what it is without your help. So once again, thank you. This party is just as much yours as it is ours. So embrace what we have achieved together and come together for one that will certainly go down as one of the biggest parties we have thrown to date.
