So many great bands have been performing on American talks shows as of late. JAKE BUGG played on Jay Leno, and IRON AND WINE are booked to make an appearance on Jimmy Fallon, but it seems Jimmy Kimmel is the one booking all the great acts.

PHOENIX playing their latest track ‘Entertainment’ on the show, NEW ORDER have also appeared as well as the YEAH YEAH YEAHS, PARAMORE, FOALS, COLD WAR KIDS, SETH SENTRY, KENDRICK LAMAR, and Groovin’ The Moo headliners TEGAN AND SARA. The latest performance to hit Jimmy Kimmel is electronic outfit M83.

M83 have been hard at work creating the soundtrack for the new action-sci-fi Tom Cruise film Oblivion, a film where Tom Cruise is the empty Earth’s security guard but has actually been brainwashed into believing a completely different ending to the world. Morgan Freeman is the one that reveals the truth to him, proving that Morgan Freeman knows all!

Here the band decided to perform the title track ‘Oblivion’ with guest vocalist Susanne Sunfor. Susanne’s vocals are just beautiful and the whole track sounds ethereal and out-of-this-world, you know, typical M83 style. The small orchestra the band have lined up for the performance also made the spectacle all the more interesting, and as you all know if you have an orchestra, something brilliant is about to happen.

The light show is pretty rad as well blue lights going nuts all over the seemingly small stage on set. M83 have done a good job with this track, which is a very good move because if a movie has a good soundtrack, then at least it’s got one good thing going for it. The Oblivion Soundtrack is out now and hopefully now M83 have wrapped that up, some touring will come next because that show on Kimmel looked pretty spectacular.
